Tri State Pet Rescue is dedicated to saving homeless animals from euthanasia
We rescue homeless animals from high-kill animal control facilities and transport them to no-kill groups who place them into approved homes.
Tri State Pet Rescue operates under 501(c)3 status as a non-profit organization. It is totally volunteer and all donated monies are used toward medical expenses, food, shelter an
d transportation for the animals.
Although small, with a limited number of volunteers, Tri State Pet Rescue is very successful in saving animals from euthanasia. In 2007, 300 animals were transported; in 2008, 702 were transported; and in 2009, 1226 were transported. Since March of 2007, over 5,000 animals have been transported! The pattern of growth and success is reflected in these numbers.
Currently, Tri State Pet Rescue is working with groups in New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Florida and Washington D.C., all of which have been visited and approved by our representatives. It seems like only yesterday that our volunteers were hoping to find one group to accept the wonderful animals of Fannin and Gilmer counties. Now that issue is resolved and drivers are needed to help transport the animals. Calling on the same faith Tri State Pet Rescue used in the 2007 search for groups, we believe drivers will volunteer to help accomplish this very worthwhile venture.
